This place screams tourist trap at you at full volume every step you take. That's not to say you see many tourists here, but this place is just built to force everyone into the mold.As everyone mentions, you need to drive here a fair distance along small and windy mountain roads. When you get there, you'll have to navigate the parking lot and hope that you find a space. Then, after 100 dollar entry (which you can actually use toward buying their products), you get to explore the place. Here's what I know about it: there are lots of stores and restaurants. If you're here to take pictures or to buy scented soaps and souvenirs, this is a good place. There's a Lavender house to explore, which I believe was someone's actual house that they have converted (along with the rest of the farm) into this tourist attraction. It's filled with smells and strange objects that you can take pictures with - and there's another shop in there too. If you're into walking the nature trails, they have a few ok ones too. When there are fewer people, I hear there's a lavender ceremony or something.Anyway, I wasn't really that into it. Some people will like it, but I doubt most people would make the journey a second a time.

We drove there with a driver as it was quite far from the main road. If you expect rows of lavender like in Japan, you'll be disappointed. It's a small place but the products and food (their restaurant has really yummy cuisine) made up for its small scale. If you enjoy collecting stamps, there are stamps all around the property, at certain locations you can stamp away! Try their lotions and soaps! In April they seem to have a trail open with fireflies.

the location it's very far and traveling through the mountain up and down make me feel car sick.but after all the cottage itself it's full of lavender smell. But i wont go it again the second time.

It's hard to believe a very French or Italian style cattle garden is located near Taizhong city. Although it requires vehicle to drive to this place, but for those who seek for a quiet and nice walk, this is a great choice for lovers and families to pay a visit. You won't regret the trip. The garden is big and takes some walking. You can stay here for about 2-3 hours to enjoy the view and a cup of tea or coffee.

The lavender farm is about a 1.5 hour drive into the mountains from Taichung city centre. If you don't drive, my last visit here 3 years ago was through a taxi we hired for the day. Just approach a taxi driver and negotiate a price and other attractions they can recommend in the area.It wasn't quite the right season so the lavender weren't in full bloom, but it was still a worthwhile trip. It's a different scenery amongst the mountains, trees, and the lavenders of course. They have a well-packaged and good range of products but can be quite costly. The restaurant here serves very good food but is a bit on the expensive side for Taiwan standards. Definitely try the lavender ice-cream.

There's no public bus that goes directly to this place so u need to get a driver to bring you in. We got our accommodation to arrange one for us. I saw online that you could get it at 2500 to 3000NTD for a day trip to xinshe including this place. Overall, this was a good trip and we could feel the effort the 2 ladies who started this put in the farm. Even the toilets carry their signature soap for people to use and had wooden doors and lavender perfume to give that rustic feel. A disappointment was that the lavenders were not in full bloom when we went (our guide told us the weather is rather weird these days and the blooming season could be pushed back). Must try is the lavender ice cream, with a tinge of lavender and not too sweet. Also try their lavender and rose nougat, otherwise known as 牛轧糖。 The more you chew the more the flavours comes out. Their soaps are rather unique too. Their moisturising cream is filled with the smell of lavender, though I felt it was similar to that by Crabtree and Evelyn, but u could get one if u wish.

Our local guide and driver brought us to Lavender Cottage which is located in the hills and it is not a place where your groups will visit as big tour buses will have problems making their way up the small roads. It is a delightful place with a small lavender field and sells lavender derived products like handsoap, body lotion, insect repellent, etc. There is also a cafe there serving floral tea, ice cream and meals. Tried a mixed fruit tea which was very refreshing and not too sweet. It was a sweltering hot September day when we visited. It would be a lot better to visit during the cooler months.

Nice and relaxing place that is more accessible by private vehicles since it is at the top of a mountain. Remember to ask for a safe cab driver since the road up there can be quite windy. Be greeted by a giant teddy bear sitting on the bench when you first enter the place! And remember to visit the souvenirs shops as well, they have at least 3 of them inside so don't rush to buy anything. I personally like the lavender products that they carry, like the handmade soaps, fragrant pouches, dream bottles etc. They even sell pretty postcards that you can buy and mail home, just drop it any of the cottage-like letterboxes available there! Visit the mini house where there are information on the uses of flowers and herbs. There are a few cafes around as well, but if you just want something light and unique, visit the one opposite the carousel where they sell lavender ice cream! I'm not sure when the lavenders are in full bloom but we went there around May and didn't get to see them unfortunately. Entrance ticket is NT200 each with NT100 vouchers that you can use to offset any purchases made. http://poportion.blogspot.sg/2014/08/taichung-day-5-part-1_4.html

It's a very beautiful place!!!!!!!!But this place in the mountains inside, very far! This place can make people relax, away from the city's hurry. There are many types of herbs and beautiful European architecture. There are a lot of selling handmade goods, such as soap, tea bags, fragrances, etc.Their meals are very tasty, but the price is slightly higher. The most special is their vanilla water, really tasty and only here have!

After checked-in the hotel; searching the nearest activities from tripadvisor and attracted by Sinshe Lavender Farm that would be a good idea to go there before dinner. Went there with my friend but can't find the place over 30 min walking there! But the garbage collection station.
